Introduction to KKM and FoSIM
Course Briefing Script: Introduction to KKM FOSIM (with F&B focus)
Hi everyone, I’m Jeffrey from Conzlab Berhad.
Welcome to this course, Introduction to KKM FOSIM.
In Malaysia, all food premises must be registered with the Ministry of Health. This includes factories, catering businesses, food stalls, restaurants, and even food trucks. The rule comes under the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009.
Why register? The government needs to make sure that every place involved in preparing, storing, packaging, delivering, or selling food is safe and clean. Even if you run a catering business at home, you still must register. But if you only cook food for charity without selling, then no need.
Today, everything is handled through the online system called FOSIM — the Food Safety Information System of Malaysia. Here, you can apply, renew, and manage your food license fully online.
If businesses don’t follow the law, KKM can take strict action. This includes heavy fines, seizure of your food products, suspension of your license, or even closing down your premises.
In this course, I will guide you step by step on how to use FOSIM and stay compliant. Our goal is to help you run your food or beverage business smoothly, legally, and without unnecessary risk.
So, let’s get started with the introduction to KKM FOSIM.
